Northeast Florida Public Employees’ Local 630 is affiliated with the Laborers’
International Union of North America (LIUNA), an international union with over
750,000 members in the United States and Canada. LIUNA is a member the AFL-CIO. Local 630, represents public and private employees across North Florida from the east coast to the west coast. Local 630 has approximately 750 members.

Our local union began in the early 1970?s as members of a building trades union
known as Laborers’ Local 301. City employee members of Local 301 at the
time applied for and were granted their own charter in March of
1980. Employees working for the City of Jacksonville and the Town of
Orange Park were the initial members. Membership has grown substantially and we
now represent the employees of many cities, agencies, and companies.

Andy Bemis is the Business Manager, and officers of the union are elected every three years by the membership. As Business Manager, Andy heads contract negotiations
with the various employer groups and handles grievances for union members,
acting as an employee representative while protecting the rights and benefits
bargained for and mutually agreed upon in our collective bargaining agreements.

Union Stewards are selected by the Business Manager and the employees working for the employers listed above. They represent our members in the field and report directly to
the Business Manager. Our office is located in North Jacksonville off Busch Dr
at:

550 Balmoral Circle North, Suite 308, 32218.

Office hours are:
8:30a.m.-4:30p.m., Monday through Friday.

Our telephone number(s) are:

(904) 757-8444 or

toll free (800) 648-2630 within Florida (outside Jacksonville).

We at Local 630, work hard to earn the respect of the members and the management representatives we work with. Our goals are to provide better wages, benefits and a safe work environment for our members and their families. We are a union family, believing in a better tomorrow and a stronger America for all. Through hard work and dedication to our community, we will accomplish these goals.
